Global Solutions for Peace

The Global Solutions for Peace series was created by one of Canada’s foremost peace activists, Dr. Mary-Wynne Ashfordglobally recognized and renowned for her ability to translate complex concepts through stories and life experiences. The Global Solutions for Peace course is now available as eight interactive workshops suitable for High School students and older. It can be downloaded and used by individuals or groups free of charge. Content is guided by the open-access book Global Governance and the Emergence of Global Institutions for the 21st Century.

“The course is affirmative and realistic. It goes beyond simply setting out what is wrong and reveals the world not only as it is but also at it truly can be, along with practical steps to achieving a world of peace. Students will learn that building such a world does not require starting at square one–that individuals, communities, and civil organizations are already at work.”-

Bill Geimer, founder of the Greater Victoria Peace School.

Global Solutions for Peace is based on a vision of a more democratic future based on justice, equality of opportunity, the rule of law, peace and prosperity. It asks how we can best build this future. What are the worldviews, social systems and international governance structures needed for the safety and well-being of humanity?
