Peace Essay Contest: Local schools to host

The winners of the Peace Essay Contest, Madeline Baxter and Shreenita Shegar of Claremont Secondary School, were awarded $1000 and $500 respectively, at the Claremont Awards Ceremony on June 23rd, 2026. The winning essays were published in the Times Colonist newspaper: Where Healing Begins and Non-Violent Proposals to Advance Peace. Both winners are warmly thanked and congratulated by the Greater Victoria Peace School for these very creative and thoughtful responses to the Peace Essay challenge.
